Across the bridge from the sky scrapers, eternal night lights and yellow cars which dot empty spaces is Brooklyn. To the left of the manic island of New York are the growing gentrified neighborhoods of Greenpoint, Williamsburg, and Dumbo which is home to new specialty coffee shops with bright corners, colored coffee mugs and eccentric decor. Though there may not be heartwarming feel-good-to-your-bones quotes about the borough, locals wander the wide, quiet sidewalks to visit coffee shops which allow you to take a break from the noise across the river. And once you do, you might never cross the bridge again!
